No matter what the season, there is always something going on in the City of Guyton. Keeping our residents informed of scheduled events and local happenings is important. 

Upcoming Events

City Council Meetings

Our City Council Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month.  The meetings are held at Guyton City Hall and start at 7pm.  The public is encouraged to attend.

Good Friday

Begins: 4/3/2026
Ends: 4/3/2026

Guyton City Hall will be closed on April 3, 2026, in observance of Good Friday.  The office will re-open for business on April 6, 2026, at 8:00am.

Spring Sale Along the Trail

Begins: 4/25/2026 - 8:00 AM

Guyton's Spring Sale Along the Trail will take place on April 25, 2026, from 8am until 2pm.  We urge you to come out and enjoy excellent food, crafts, and sale vendors in the shade of the Guyton Walking Trail.

2026 Earth Day Festival

You are invited to participate in the 2026 Earth Day Festival on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 8:00am until 2:00pm!  The purpose of the Festival is to educate the community about green issues specifically in Effingham County and surrounding areas thus motivating visitors to make their community greener.

Memorial Day

Guyton City Hall will be closed on May 25, 2026, in observance of Memorial Day.  The office will re-open for business on May 26, 2026, at 8:00am.

Summer Social and Chalk Festival

Begins: 6/13/2026 - 5:30 PM
Ends: 6/13/2026 - 7:30 PM

The Guyton Historic Preservation Commission will host its annual Summer Social and Chalk Festival on June 13, 2026, along the Guyton Walking Trail.  Bring the kids out for an afternoon of fun! 

Juneteenth Holiday

Ends: 6/19/2026

Guyton City Hall will be closed on June 19, 2026, in observance of the Juneteenth holiday.  The office will re-open for business on June 22, 2026, at 8:00am.

July 4th Holiday

Begins: 7/3/2026
Ends: 7/3/2026

Guyton City Hall will be closed on July 3, 2026, in observance of the July 4th holiday.  The office will re-open for business on July 6, 2026, at 8:00am.

Community Picnic

The Guyton Leisure Services is hosting its annual Community Picnic on July 11, 2026, from 10:00am until 3:00pm in the Guyton Gymnasium at 505 Magnolia Street.  Make sure to mark your calendar for an afternoon of fun with games, food, prizes, books, and much more!

Soul to Sole Walk & 5K

The annual "Soul to Sole" Breast Cancer Awareness Walk & 5K presented by Effingham Health Systems will take place on October 10, 2026, at the Guyton Gymnasium.  Everyone is encouraged to lace up their favorite sneakers and participate!

Columbus Day

Trick or Trail

Ends: 10/24/2026 - 7:00 PM

The City of Guyton is excited to continue its tradition of providing the community with a safe event to trick or treat! The Trick or Trail event will take place on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm along the Guyton Walking Trail.  Spaces will be available at NO COST to individuals, businesses, churches, and civic organizations that want to hand out candy and make a fun, safe night for the kids in our community.  Individuals and businesses are invited to reserve a free space at Guyton City Hall.  While costumes and decorations are not a requirement, they are most certainly encouraged! This is not a vendor event.  NO SALES ALLOWED!
